Brand Photography, am I the best pick? (pun intended)
Hey girl, welcome to the exciting world of brand photography! I can tell you’re super eager to capture some awesome shots for your brand. But here’s the thing – finding the perfect photographer can be a bit overwhelming, right? Don’t worry, I’ve got your back! In this post, we’re diving deep into the art of picking the ideal brand photographer for you. So, let’s jump right in…
The best way to start, is by looking at the style of a photographer’s work. Is it a bit of you? Are you going for a moody look? Bright and airy? Earthy? Colourful? You will know the style as soon as you see it. For example, my work is light & bright, and I always pick out the brand colour of my clients to really make that pop. Check out my insta to see this in situ.
You are going to want to be around someone you really vibe with. A brand shoot is a collaborative effort, and someone who you bounce off is really important. Make sure you check out social media pages to get a feel for personality and style, and always jump on a call to get that initial impression.
I will say this, it’s an investment hiring a professional photographer, so if your budget doesn’t match what they’re charging, put a pin in it and come back to them if/when your budget increases. Be polite in your response once they’ve sent you a quote, don’t tell them they’re too expensive. It’s likely that they’ve worked really hard to get to where they are today and invested a lot of time, money and energy into building their businesses. Think about it like this, you wouldn’t go into Dior and tell them that their bags are too expensive. They’re just not in your budget.
ou are going to want to keep your visual content updated regularly, so picking the right photographer from the get-go is really important. By finding “the one”, first time, you will ensure the images you receive will remain consistent in their style, which is super important for continuity in your brand. It is impossible to achieve this if you are bouncing from one tog to the next with each shoot.
