“I have nothing to wear” – every woman who ever lived

I think it is safe to say the majority of us have turbulent relationships with our wardrobes. We have good days, bad days, and damn right ugly days. BUT. When it comes to your Brand Shoot – I have some top tips to make sure any wardrobe malfunctions can be given a very wide birth. Stick with me girl, I got you covered.

1. Mix It Up: More Outfits = More Choice

Okay, first things first – let’s talk wardrobe. Try to round up about 3-5 outfits. You might not wear all of them, but having options is like having a style buffet. You can pick and choose what feels right in the moment. And if there is that malfunction, you have a backup plan – win, win!

2. Pop That Colour (If You’re Into It)

If you’ve got a signature colour for your personal brand, or a colour you know you just look good in, get it involved. You don’t need to go all in; you could even add a cute turquoise ring or necklace, it will do the trick. But if it’s not your thing, don’t sweat it – I tend to keep things neutral in my own brand shoots, so you do you!

3. Dress to Impress… Yourself!

Feeling confident in front of the camera is the name of the game. So, choose clothes that make you feel fabulous. Pick outfits that celebrate your curves and make you feel like a million dollars. If you are in doubt about what suits your body type best, you could always look at reaching out to a stylist for some friendly advice before the big day. I have plenty of recommendations so feel free to ask away if you need pointing in the right direction.

4. VPL…

We don’t want you to get your knickers in a twist on shoot day (literally). If you’re going for those figure-hugging outfits, remember: no VPL allowed. Visible panty lines are a big no-no. And trust me, your photographer won’t thank you if she is sat there editing out the undies in 100 plus photos! So, choose your undies wisely – they’re the low-key stars of the day!

5. Bling It Up

Accessories are like the sprinkles on your ice cream – they make everything better. Think hats, jewellery, hair clips, and bags. Keep it minimalist, you don’t want to overdo it. Just have fun experimenting with your look before the shoot.

6. Plan Ahead

The night before your big day, make sure everything is ready to roll, and your outfits are wrinkle-free. Trust me; you don’t want to be running around like a headless chicken on shoot morning. Plan ahead, so you can wake up feeling cool, calm and collected.

7. Share the Journey

If we were doing a shoot together, I am all about getting involved in the prep. Let’s talk shoes, props and outfits. Send me those selfies, girl, I LOVE a fashion show! Helping out with ideas and getting a sneak peek at your vision is one of my favourite parts of the process.

8. Say it with me, “I am an absolute 10 and I will smash this shoot”

Above everything else, remember this: the best thing you can wear on shoot day is your confidence. You’re a total rocket, and your confidence will shine through in every shot. You’ve got this!

Conclusion:

Getting ready for a photoshoot should be exciting, not a stress-fest. So, go work those outfits, flaunt your uniqueness, and let your personality sparkle. You’re going to rock those photos.
